August 4 Our Last Day at Sea

After breakfast on the fourth we stopped by the Purser’s Office to check on the details about disembarking at Greenock on the fifth and to confirm that we will get our passports back by then. The young woman who helped us checked and we can pick up our passports at that desk around dinner time. I should sleep much better tonight.

Today we are sorting out our clothes and packing our suitcases, though we don’t really need to since we must be off the ship before it leaves port in Greenock.

This evening while we were at dinner there was an invasion of Northern Gannets, both mature and immature. I counted at least eight at once but all the way through our meal, various gannets were coasting alongside the ship. As an afterthought, two grey gulls appeared as we ate dessert.

A couple of notes about our cruise – it was WONDERFUL! The ship’s service crew was great, especially our cabin steward, Vivian. Here is Vivian with Dino:

The only real complaint I have is about the QE’s tiny showers. They are even smaller than the one we had on the Royal Caribbean ship we took to Cozumel and the QE’s do not have handheld shower heads. If we take another Cunard voyage, we WILL upgrade to one of the suites with a bath with shower or an accessible room with a roll in shower.
