Today we left Norwich and stopped at Ely Cathedral on the way to Oxford.

Ely Cathedral is renowned for its stained glass and they have a Stained Glass Museum upstairs which explores the history of the art.

The ESP group went on a guided tour of the cathedral which included a history of its construction and additions.

One of a pair of chairs stitched for use by the royal family.

Needlework altar front dating to the 16th or 17th century.

Then we were treated to a special display and talk about items in the needlework collection of the cathedral.

Everyone went their own way for lunch and shopping. Ralph and I ate at the Almonry, behind the cathedral.
