NOTE: The witness, Jonathan Chandler, was a first cousin to Jonathan Reeder, and a child of Ann (Taylor) CHandler. He was a legatee in the will of their grd-father, Jonathan Taylor, in 1793. 18 October 1797 Beaver Dam branch of Bush River, Newberry, South Carolina.8

Baptism4 September 1802 He was baptized on 4 September 1802 at Bush River Church, Newberry, South Carolina; "This great revival at Bush River Church lasted for seventy days, from August 22 through October 30, 1802, and ninety-four people were received and baptized on professions of faith. On Saturday, September 4, 1802, the thirteenth day of the revival, Charles Crow was seized by the Holy Spirit, made a profession of faith, was received by the congregation and baptized at the age of thirty-two years."

Religion*June 1804 He was Baptist in the Separate Baptist church of Bush River.4 
Ordination*29 August 1807 He was ordained on 29 August 1807 at Bush River Baptist Church, Newberry, South Carolina; The church agreed to ordain him, and a double ordination ceremony for Charles and James Teague was conducted on August 29, 1807. James Teague's descendants would later become prominent members of the Alabama clergy, thereby forging another connection between Bush River and the state of Alabama. Following the ordination, the ordaining clergy issued the following document to Charles:
"Whereas Charles Crow has been called to Ordination by the Church of which he is a Member-(Being Baptist) There Advertises All Concerned that We the subscribers have duly set him apart by the Imposition of Hands to preach and baptize wherever his Lot may be cast."

     Whereas our beloved Brother, the Reverend Charles Crow has signified to us that he intends to [leave?] this state we deem it our duty to testify of our regard and fellowship with him. For nearly twenty years past he has been connected with the Bethel Baptist Association during which time he has been engaged in faithfully dispensing the word of life, which he has been blest to the awakening and conversion of many. In the Association he has been an active and useful member, having, for many years, been the Clerk of said body. In his general deportment he has ever manifested the Christian character.
It is, therefore, with deep regret that we part with our amiable and excellent Brother, and do hereby recommend him to the Christian’s public, but to [missing - those?] of our own faith and order, in particular, as a faithful and orthodox minister of the Gospels, praying that God may order and direct his course and make him abundantly useful in winning souls to Christ in whatever part of the [illegible] he may be called to labor.

Burial*after 12 June 1845 He was buried after 12 June 1845 at Ocmulgee Church, Perry, Alabama; After a suitable church service, he was buried in the cemetery at Ocmulgee Church. In time, a large while headstone was erected at the head of his grave with an inscription reading:

In memory of Rev. Charles Crow late pastor
of the Oakmulgee Baptist Church who was
ordained August 30th 1807 whose sole
made meet for Glory was taken to
Emmanuels bosom on the 12th day of
June 1845 and now lies in this grave
in hope of joyful resurrection to
eternal life and Glory. He was a man
eminent in piety of humane benevolent
and charitable disposition. He departed
this life in the 75th year of his age and
like his master was by some dispised
like him by many others loved and
prized.11

(Witness) Will5 February 1747 He witnessed the will of Sarah Heald on 5 February 1747 at Kennet, Chester, Pennsylvania; Sarah made her will, which she signed with her mark, on 5 February 1747/8. She described herself as weak in body, of Kennett township. She left each of her three sons 5/ to be paid within a year after her death. To each of her three daughters she left £20. Her cousin Martha WAY was left £4 when she became 18 years old. The residue of her estate was to be divided equally among her grandchildren then living. Her daughter Mary EVANS was named executrix. Sarah died in December 1747 in Kennett, and the will was proven 3 March 1747/8. The estate inventory was valued at £119.10.3. Something screwy with these dates. Her death in "December" was probably "Twelfth Month" which would have been February.6,1

(Witness) Land14 January 1773 Aaron Harlan witnessed the Land of George Harlan on 14 January 1773 at Chatham, North Carolina; George Harland sold to Mathew Jones for 250 pounds 150 acres, lying on both sides of Harland's Creek, Ross Spring Branch, by a deed granted to Aaron Harland by the Right Honorable John Carl Granville 2 Aug 1760, it being a tract granted to George Harland by deed ofgift from Aaron Harland his father.
