Which if either of the above mentioned Randles was the father of Thomas is uncertain: if the Wooeforde one was, then Alice Wilkerson ws not his first wife.1

On the ship Britannia. Mathew [sic] Brown served with a company of Catawba indians under Capt. Thomas Drennan. The company joined General Sumter in 1780, 1781-82. There were 41 Catawbas and 3 white men. He served for 20 days. During the American Revolutionary War in 1781, he supplied the militia in South Carolina with provisions. The State repaid him in 1790.
