Our plan today was to drive around Loch Ness. We stopped by RSPB Loch Ruthven but didn’t do any bird watching. I was a nasty grey day and it was a good hike to the hide, so we took so pictures of the area and moved on.
We continued driving as close to the south side of the loch as possible.
At Fort Augustus, on the southwestern tip of Loch Ness, we stopped for a lunch break.
Some mallards were interested in our crumbs.
As we headed towards Inverness, we stopped at RSPB Corrimony and the Corrimony Chambered Cairn.
As we passed through Drumnadrochit, we stopped in at the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition. Their history of the search for the Loch Ness monster was interesting as they refused to come down for or against its existence. We didn’t take any pictures, but the building is a neat old structure and the exhibition and shops were entertaining.
We had another dinner at the Oakwood Restaurant and spent the night at the Avalon House B&B.
