With my aversion to purple, it was inevitable that I would change the purple aster to a blue one. And I am very pleased with how it looks!
As with with the other parts that have lumpy stitches, I am waiting to do the French knots around the middle of the flower until later. The puckering shows why I should be working on a slate frame – or at least lace the sides when using stretcher bars. I’ll have to re-stretch the piece from side to side before I do any more stitching.
