Note* Eliza Ann Wadlington Mrs. Updike mentions that Louisa Wadlington married Allen Gary (sketch (165) p. 59) in the sketch of Marvel M. Gary and Eliza Ann Wadlington (163) p. 58. It could be that Louisa and Eliza Wadlington are sisters or cousins.
The Wadlington family migrated to Kentucky with the Gary family from South Carolina and was an extensive one. A descendent stated unraveling the Wadlington-Gary connection is not for the faint of heart. They traveled about the Country together, and raised large families, used the same manes repeatedly and often married first cousins. She recited the job would have been well nigh impossible except for the fact that they seemed to have amused themselves by suing each other regularly, thereby leaving plentiful Court Records.
