On 16 Feb. 1821, Pendleton District, SC, Asa Gary was a witness for Charles, Jacob and Thomas Gary. On 7 Apr. 1832, 10 acres sold to Jesse Gary from estate of Pendleton Page, part of original tract granted to Thomas Gary and from him to Asa C. or G. Gary and Asa Gary sold it to Jacob Gary. It seems that they were all brothers and sons of Thomas Gary. In Lane's Historical Collection it is recited that Asa Gary settled in Sumter Co., AL. Ms.Updie couldn't find him there. In Bosque Co., TX settled Asa, Goeffery, Isaac, Isaac C., Matt and William Gary, possibly of this family.

On 9 Mar. 1787, Josiah Gary of Prince Geogre Co., VA. gave to John Baird, of the same county, and Joseph Westmore, of Petersburg, deed of trust, recorded 11 Sep. 1787. On 10 June 1788, Josiah Gary and wife, Sarah, of Prince George Co. sold to John Baird an undivided half, formerly conveyed to Richard Bland to Walter Nunnally to Nathan Tatum by deed 1 Apr. 1706. He recited that John, Josiah and Thomas GARY, dec'd, were brothers and sons of William GARY who executed a will 22 November 1745, sold land on Warwick Swamp and Butler's Branch; wit. by William GARY, William WRIGHT and Mary GARY. 6 June 1759 Martins, Brandon Parish, Prince George, Virginia.4

(Witness) Will1 February 1796 Josiah Gary witnessed the will of Pleasant Grammer on 1 February 1796 at Prince George, Virginia; Pleasant Grammer’s will (in Prince George County?) specifically lists siblings Grief, Nathaniel, Elizabeth Cureton, John, and Sarah Gary. Pleasant Grammer's 1796 will in Petersburg Husting Court lists siblings Nathan, E. Cureton, John, and "Sister Gary." The will also mentions (but does not identify the relationship) for James Cureton, which seems to be Elizabeth's husband, and Thomas Withers, who would be the father-in-law of Pleasant's brother John. Grief’s will lists brother John. Also, the 1802 division of Pleasan't land agrees with this take on the family group.
